This week, Reception have been learning all about the history of castles in medieval Britain. To put their knowledge to the test, they took an exciting tour around Windsor Castle on Thursday, where they ended their day with a delicious lunch on the grounds before heading back to school. They really enjoyed connecting all the things they’ve been taught in the classroom to the real-world.
The next day, our Reception classrooms were filled with knights, queens and jesters for a special medieval dress up day. The children spent the day doing a variety of themed activities, including a jousting competition in the sun, creating their own flags and much more. What a perfect way to start the half-term!
