It is fifteen years now since we recognised the need for a co-educational prep school in the heart of Notting Hill. We wanted an intimate school with a truly local feel and I believe this is exactly what we have achieved.

I feel honoured to have presided over the various phases of NHP’s development. They have been exciting times. Starting a school from scratch has allowed us to reap the best ideas from education past and present. This mix of old and new makes us special. We offer modern and inspiring teaching in an informal and exciting environment and we underpin this with the traditional values of morality and generosity of spirit.

Our whole school community is united in recognising that everyone has the right to begin and end the day in a happy frame of mind. Kindness, courtesy and concern for others are defining values of our ethos.

In a few short years, we have established ourselves as a leading preparatory school. We received a resounding endorsement in our recent Independent Schools Inspection when we were awarded a grade of “Excellence” in all aspects of our educational provision. Our children go on to all the major senior schools in London and across the UK. The overwhelmingly positive feedback we receive from these schools about our pupils, particularly their capacity for independent thought, makes us confident that we are educating our children for these modern times.

My staff and I believe wholeheartedly in academic rigour, but we also believe in the innate joy of childhood. Perhaps, most importantly, in these highly pressurised times, we believe it is possible to have both.

The only way to experience the uplifting quality of NHP is to come and see for yourself. I do encourage you to do so.
